This just in, via Trust director Dave Lane: Hi everybody,
Council voted down a motion on Monday to end a 2-year delay on reviewing our city plan. This is a problem because the plan is several years old, and is apparently not strong enough to prevent huge controversies like the one we currently have over the Fortis proposal.
However, there is movement at City Hall to set priorities for the next five years in an Integrated Community Sustainability Plan (ICSP). This plan will be appended to the City Plan and will affect how the City allocates money and people.
The ISCP is defined as "a long-term plan, developed in consultation with community members that provides direction for the cities, towns and regions to realize sustainability objectives it has for the environmental, cultural, social and economic dimensions of its identity."
