What kinds of events can you hold at the Vaults? If you are interested in booking the Vaults for a public performance or event, please contact the coordinator at (709) 739-7870.
The rental rates for 2010 are as follows: $200 for up to three hours or any part thereof. $300 for up to six hours or any part thereof. $50 an hour for each additional hour. View the rental contract here (Adobe PDF).  Do you provide catering and bar services? We do not provide catering or bar services. It is the Tenant's responsibility to make these arrangements. Tenants are welcome to bring and serve their own alcohol on the premises during private events. Please be advised we do not have a liquor license and are not permitted to sell open alcohol on the premises.The building has a kitchen with a fridge, stove, microwave, sink, and dishwasher. There are two washrooms. What is the capacity of the venue? This can vary from forty to one hundred people, depending on the nature of the event, seating plans, etc. It is highly recommended that you visit the premises before your event. Do you have tables/chairs/table linens/dishes/utensils? We have approximately sixty chairs and three six-foot tables in the building that tenants are welcome to use. We do not provide dishes, table linens, or utensils. Is there a deposit required? There is a $50 non-refundable deposit for rentals. Tenants are required to sign a rental agreement. A Vaults staff member will be present during your event. Rental times are inclusive of setup and cleanup. Tenants must leave the building exactly as found and remove any refuse (bottles, garbage, catering trays, etc) at the end of the rental period. If this is not done satisfactorily, the Tenant shall be billed for cleaning expenses. The Tenant is also responsible for returning objects to their original location. Can I decorate?
The Newman Wine Vaults is a Provincial Historic Site, complete with exhibits and artifacts – even on the walls! Please discuss any decorating ideas with the site manager while booking the event. Modifications to any part of the Vault, including its wiring (lighting, heating, sound) require the advance written permission of the Trust. Additional Information
The Vaults has no fire alarm and no security personnel. All people and objects brought into the Vaults are at the renter's risk and are NOT covered by the Vaults insurance.
Smoking is not permitted in any part of the building or at the entrance to the Vaults.
