Heritage Foundation of Newfoundland and Labrador

HFNL was established by the provincial government in 1984. HFNL designates Registered Heritage Structures and provides grants for restoration and preservation. The Heritage Foundation also has an educational role and undertakes or sponsors events, publications and other projects designed to promote the value of our built heritage.


Association of Heritage Industries

AHI is an umbrella organization of provincial heritage groups established in 2000. The Newfoundland Historic Trust is a member of AHI and provides representation on their council.


Newfoundland Historical Society

Founded in 1905, NHS is the oldest non-profit, independent heritage organization in the province. Its mandate is to promote knowledge and public discussion of the history and heritage of Newfoundland and Labrador, which it does through free public lectures, publications, public symposia, heritage awards, and advocacy work.

Museum Association of Newfoundland and Labrador

The Museum Association of Newfoundland and Labrador is part of an information network that connects with other provincial and national associations and organizations to provide members with up-to-date information and activities from all across Canada.


Association of Newfoundland and Labrador Archives

The Association of Newfoundland and Labrador Archives (ANLA) represents archives, archivists and individuals committed to the preservation of archival records in the province. Their mandate is to promote professional standards in procedures and practices through workshops, on-site advisory services and the development of educational materials. ANLA also provides a network for communication among member institutions and represents the archival community of Newfoundland and Labrador in federal and provincial partnerships.


Historic Sites Association of Newfoundland and Labrador

The Historic Sites Association of Newfoundland and Labrador (HSA) is a volunteer, non-profit organization with a mandate to present the province's history and heritage.


The Heritage Canada Foundation is a national, membership-based organization and registered charity established in 1973 by the Government of Canada. Their mandate is to preserve and demonstrate and to encourage the preservation and demonstration of the nationally significant historic, architectural, natural and scenic heritage of Canada with a view to stimulating and promoting the interest of the people of Canada in that heritage.

 

Association of Cultural Industries

ACI is a unified voice for the artists and cultural workers of the province of Newfoundland and Labrador to foster the growth and development of our cultural resources and industries. ACI has sought to be an inclusive organization open to individuals, corporations and businesses in all areas and disciplines of the sector, including creation, production, distribution, conservation and education. This broad mandate and representation allows ACI to address those necessary and crucial demands that cannot be met by individual discipline-specific associations.
